Have just been speaking to Harry [Jarvis]. He tells me that when his father,who was
the "regional doctor" for a group of villages near Czernowitz,went for his
last holiday he employed a locum doctor named Dr Rosengarten. After Harry
arrived in England and eventually started practicing as a doctor it was as a
General Practitioner before finally becoming an anaesthetist. At the time he
was living in Luton (some miles out of London)and needed a break..so
advertised for a locum. A man turned up with a strong accent....and Dr
Jarvis asked for his origin...and after hearing the reply revealed to the
locum that his real name was Jaslowitz. Dr Rosengarten had also escaped to
the UK!!So now the question....does anybody know what happened to our
fellow-Czernowitzer Dr Rosengarten???? Both Harry and I would love to
