Dear Alfred

I read your letter with emotion. It is concise. It explains and ilustrates
something that
today many refuse to comprehend that such humiliation was posible.
I vividly remember been beaten wearing this badge.
It is a good reminder to never forget the past and hope it never happens in
the future.
A very touching letter.

thank you Fred. Weisinger

The recent correspondence on Cz-L about the Yellow Star prompts me to share
with you a very personal letter I wrote to my son sixteen years ago. I think
it may be of interest to Czernowitzers and their descendents to glean into
the thoughts and emotions of a teenager in Czernowitz at the time of its
worst tragedy and to learn what this symbol came to represent during the
subsequent seven decades of his life.
