Hi,

I don't want to disappoint anybody, but according to what I found on the official Chernivtsi site
it is a reconstruction of the existing runway, not an extension.
To fit the international standards they are putting 3 layers of the runway
(probably only to 316 meters of it) and say that in the future planes like
Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 could be served.
There are plans for direct flights to Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey and Israel.

It is highly unlikely that one of these planes could fly non-stop from JFK to CWC,
but all of the Europe, Israel and so could be reached directly.
While I didn't read anything about Syracuse in US, Syracuse in Italy (Sicily) could theoretically be reached directly via the Catania airport :-)  )

Alex
