Dear Mimi,
I will be happy to send you a copy of my grandfathers memoirs to
Bloomington. Just send me your address and I will send it to you as a
gift.
For everybody else who might be interested:
Erwin Rennert's memoirs are available at the New York Public Library
in the main building and at the Center for Jewish History in New York
City.
We also sell the book on Amazon.com and Amazon.de.
Our storefronts on Amazon can be found here:
http://www.amazon.com/shops/A2IOZVJ5KA2UCP
http://www.amazon.de/shops/Bucovina
I know that many of you already purchased our photo book "The Jewish
Bucovina" and want to thank you for doing so!
The sales of our book support our other projects, like our public
exhibits and our educational seminars about the Shoah for high school
kids. In 2011 we made workshops with about 300 kids in Austria. The
topic of our workshops was not only the Holocaust, but also Jewish
history and traditions and Israeli life and culture. By focusing on
the many positive aspects of Jewish life, we try to enable a greater
understanding and a feeling of friendship towards Judaism and Israel.
After our experience with the "lost exhibition" in Bucharest, we are
now also trying to organize a series of holocaust education seminars
for Romanian high schools as well.
More information on our book is available on our website:
www.jewishbucovina.org and on Shani's private website:
www.shanibaron.com
All the best,
Emil
P.S.: While my grandfather wrote much of his poetry in English, his
memoirs are in German. Besides his memoirs he published a few books
with Limericks and other short poetry in German and English.
