The birds and butterflies are still visible, because they are
carved into the stone, but since everything is painted green,
they are less noticeable now.

Someday, we should research on how this monument
was supposed to look, or how it looked in 1933.
Then have it restored professionally.
Is there a photograph or a description of it, in "Der Tag"?
Elizer Steinbarg is not only legendary, he was of great influence
in our lives. Those of us who went to the Yiddish school,
in 1944, learned to read and write Yiddish from his book of fables.
I have never found a nicer book from which to learn to read.
