The rebuilding of the Korn Shil has nothing to do with the number of
expectant worshipers of Czernowitz.
It is meant to be a Habad centre and day school .
As it is , the Shil on the Brauhausgasse hardly had a mynian
( first hand report of two years ago).
There were over a million Jews in the Ukraine before the war.
In the Holocaust 1,500,000 were killed , including Jews from
Poland, Bukovina, Bassarabia.
Under the Soviets there were some 400,000.
The current number is some 80,000.
