Hi,
We had two "Safah Ivriyah" schools in Czernowitz. One at Färbergasse 5
(nowadays "Suchavska Vulitza"), a small building containing two classrooms,
for children aged 7-10. I got my primary education there during those four
years (in Hebrew). There was also an additional non-official entrance to
this small building from the Toynbeehalle building; you were there with me
in May 2006 together with the small group that visited the Toynbeehalle. It
was bought up by the 7th Day Adventists. The second school, a much larger
one, was on Heinegasse not far away from the Jewish National House on the
Fischplatz. There was no school on Synagogengasse. The picture that you
attached seems to be the Heinegasse building.
All the best,
Abraham K.

Shalom Abraham,
I hope you and Dola are both well.
One of my Ukrainian friends in Chernivtsi works for an organization which
takes care of the homeless. This organization has recently been promised
a building which my friend thinks, formerly was the building which housed
the "Safah Ivria". Located on what used to be the Synagogengasse or Strada
Wilson and is now vul. Barbiusa.
A photograph of the building is accessible on:

Do you know whether this was the building of the Safah Ivria?
This year we will come to Israel in February or March. I hope to see both of
you then. In the meantime, all the best,
Mimi
