Hi all,
Just to give you advanced notice. I now have copies of some theatre programs
from Toynbeehalle and I think perhaps other locations in Cernauti/Czernowitz
(in Rumanian) from 1931 to 1935. I will let you know when I get them online.
There's mention of a "Cameleon" group directed by Josef Kamen performing
there. Anyone familiar with any of this? It seems to be a small-arts stage.
I also now have plenty or Rumanian Yiddish theatre programs from the late
1890s to the 1910s, more or less. If anyone who thinks they can translate
these programs (single pages) into English, please let me know and maybe I
can put some of these online too, along with the translations. Some of the
venues are the Pomul Verde garden and the Jagnitza Theatre (though they
weren't in Czernowitz/Cernauti, of course).
Regards,
Steven Lasky
