Iosif,
 Milena gives her impression of Soviet Czernowitz of the 1980 -ies.
She was 8 years old when she left.
  She gives antisemitism as one of the main reason fo leaving.
   Her remarks are not a "tragically inadequate representation.."
    They are her impressions.
    Chernivtsi was a notoroius backwater.
      Remember this:
     Her family were not German speakers.
      She didnt grow up in " Little Vienna."
        She did not recite Schiller when she was 5.
       But what she says has a much larger echo than anything we do.
      Because she made it and we are proud of her.
