[Cz-L] In memoriam Lotte Hirsch

Hi, Bruce and members of the list,
Yesterday night I got a message from Marianne Hirsch...
that her mother passed away..I was prepared for this, because two weeks =
ago she had a stroke and Marianne celebrated her 94/th anniversary in =
the hospital...she received my congratulations through the cel/tel, but =
could not speek....
Lotte was my first friend,when we were 5 years old. as
neighburs, in the next house...as teenager we went together every =
evening at the Alexandri-skating-yard. we went together to the =
dancing-school Boris,to the student-parties of the zionist =
student-association Hasmonea or Hebronia, excursions in sommer to the =
Cecina and winter the sky-parties...and we learned together for the =
bac...She studied at the University in Czernowitz French Litterature,( =
like her sister Fritzi, who was already Dr.in philosophy married =
Prof.Bong)and got her Diploma just before the war. Just in the Ghetto =
she married Ing.Carl Hirsch, who was a friend of my husband...and in the =
long evenings, when Jews were not alowed to leave the house after 6 p.m. =
they came to us , we discussed about our fate and what will bring the =
futur, about news ,or learned to play bridge-Culbertson...until the next =
day, when they could go home....After the war they moved to Timisoara, =
than to Bucarest, so once a month, we went from Ploiesti to Bucarest to =
see them. 1963 they emigrated to USA, they came 3-times to meet us in =
Bucarest....After our Alliyah we went every year to USA (our younger son =
lived also there) we went together to Canada, to Catskill, and other =
trips...our contact was never interrupted in theese 87 years of our =
friendship....in the last years we spoke by phone every week...
Lotte was a wonderful friend, as girl, she was one of the most beautyful =
girls in Czernowitz, with her very blond hair and blue eyes, slim, tall, =
when she went on the "Promenade" in the Herrengasse, every young man =
turned his head to look after her.....
I will miss her very much...
