Subject: RE: [Cz-L] Our origin.
Hardy...
My father, Julius Hauster, was born in Czernowitz in 1912, his brother,
Maximilian Hauster, in 1909. Once Maximilian lost the Romanian citizenship
by a Ion Antonescu decree, he was imprisoned in a Belgian concentration camp
and subsequently deported to and murdered in Auschwitz in 1943.
My paternal grand father, Elias Hauster, was born in Radautz in 1878, his
wife, Marjem Hauster (Fleischer), was born in Czernowitz in 1883. He came
from a deeply religious family, but they were poor; she came from an
assimilated family, but they were wealthy - a win-win-situation for all of
them! Elias made his studies in Vienna and became an officer of the
Czernowitz planning and building control office.
My paternal/paternal great grandfather, Isak Hauster (Hausthor), was born in
Radautz in 1843, his wife, Chane Jente Hauster (Silber), was born in Radautz
in 1846.
BUT: My paternal/paternal/paternal gggf, Elias (Aaron) Hausthor, and his
wife, Mirjam Hausthor, came both from Rohatyn in Galicia, close to Jerome's
Podhajce!
