My mother Feige Katz was born in Czernowitz on 1922.
Her father Sami (Samuel Katz) was born also there. His family origin is from
Sadigura. I have a tree with names but we don't know actually when they
moved to Czernowitz.
Her mother Ester Kats (Blank before marriage) was from Hotin. Her father
Burech Blank origin was from Siberia, from there they moved to Hotin and
from there to Czernowitz before they married. He was relatively a wealthy
orthodox Jew (The Paskaner rabbi used to stay in his home when visited
Czernowitz) . He purchase the house on Steingasse 12 and make it a rental
complex, including building some units in the internal yard. After their
marriage Sami and Ester moved to live in this place. My mother, her sister
and brother were born there. On 1944 Pesah , just after the Russian
"liberation/occupation" they succeeded to run away to Bucharest, there she
met my father . He is from Bucharest.
