[Cz-L] Another silent friend

Dear Friends,
As a "silent partner", I feel that I know many of you, because every
day I enjoy your witty, intelligent contributions. Czernowitz must
have been an extraordinary place, although I can't begin to imagine
the hardships and tragedy you all experienced. That historical
legacy, expressed by each of you in your postings, is what keeps me
attached, as well as a very slight hope of uncovering some bit of
information about my paternal grandfather. He was Nathan (Simche
Nissim) Fink-Dauber, born 4/15/1869 in Czernowitz, and his father was
Shlema. That's all I know, except that he was living in Budapest in
1903, with his wife Bertha and children, including my mother, when he
emigrated to the U.S. I know of no siblings, and have always hoped
that I could find some long-lost cousins. Meanwhile, I check in every
day to enjoy and learn from your postings. Thanks so much for giving
me a glimpse of my grandfather's roots!
