His brother was nickmamed "Toder " and taught physics.
We never knew their first names .
It was Metre and Toder.
Metre for his long and pointed hat ,Toder for blockhead.
He was anything but a blockhead.
They were both devoted teachers and unmarried.

He was my teacher too. I met both brothers in Israel at a Yiddish Literature
Conference.
They gave me a precious document in Yiddish, containing personal testimonies
by the repatriated orphans of Trannistria. I have sent it to the Holocaust
Museum in Washington.
Thank you for sharing this photo, which also shows you and your brother as
teenagers.
