[Cz-L] Ostjuden -Westjuden.

East is East- West is West.

The emancipated Jews of the West were better Germans than the Germans proper
spoke ,dressed and behaved like Germans. Even more so.
  Patriots ,integrated in German tradition and culture.
  Rotschilds, Mendelsohn,Heine, Tucholsky, Weil ,Feuchtwanger,
  Werfel ,Rathenau and many others.
  The Jews of the East - Ostjuden , dressed differently spoke differently
  orthodox religious . Segregated in Shtetls.
    When the Ostjuden emmigrated to America from 1880
 they passed Berlin Anhalt Bahnhof and were welcomed by the jewish
 community who brought them food and drinks and assisted them in
any possible way. All they asked was that their brethern from the East
stayed on the train and do not remain in Berlin , G-d forbid.
  After 1933 the German Jews learned that they were not Germans
 after all.
