The more we try- the less we know.
Our roots are floating.
We have no roots , not too deep ones anyway.
Driven out from any place we tried to stay.
Without a land or language we adapted to the places
that let us live unmolested for a period.
The 200 years of Habsburg rule were paradise.
We embraced the rulers the language the culture.
For them we were just a strategic oupost discarded in 1918.
Leaving us for the Rumanians .
A dream ended.
The language of ours is full of Ukrainean traces that betray or
origin.
I know that this may hurt the feelings of many.
Ukraineans ?
Our language gives us away.
