Hi Hardy, Putna...I was 3times in Putna, summer 1937, to pay a visit to my
best friend Anny Rosengarten-Schwartz, sche was married already, before
going to study in Vienna, in 1938, I went there to her birthday, for 3
days..and I stayed there 3 weeks, I met an young engeneer, and after 3 weeks
we were engaged, our civil noce was in Putna, than after we came back from
the nocetravel, we stayed one more week there, because my husband got
already his job at Royal-Dutch-Shell C-y...Our friends Heinz and Anny
Rosengarten were deported in 1942 to the Cariera in Transnistria, than sold
by the romanian jandarms to the Todt-Organisatian for 16 Pfennige each and
shot them in 1843 in Mihailovka...When we went from Ploiesti in 1976 with
busses to Czernowitz, an organized trip, we passed through Putna, and I
shivered thinking on our friends, visited the monastere and a priest showed
us a silver "Pokal"saying "here inside is earth from Cernauti, our earth, I
hope it wll be once ours again"..hope, hope
Yes Putna is a lovely spot, in a vallay, with mountains, woodsand a very
fresh air...
