Subject: [Cz-L] About Cz for Lisa

Lisa:
I was going to pull your leg and tell you that we all had servants with
strong backs who gave us piggyback rides.  In reality in pre-WW II days (20s
and 30s) we had everything you had in the Americas - cars, mail, telephones.
But in the city we had something you didn't have which was fiacres,
carriages pulled by horses. The name comes from Paris and the Hotel St.
Fiacre where the use of these lovely carriages was supposed to have
originated.  In the winter they would exchange the wheels for sled runners.

The following links take you to pictures of these great carriages which
you'll still find in different parts of the world.
