As to Jewish soldiers serving in armies of the regimes we had Jews
also served In the Rumanian army WW1.
  There is a novel by Liviu Rebreanu " Itzik Strul dezertor " dealing
  with this.
 Read when I was little , but remember.
    Has somebody read this ?
