Czernowitzers...

Eleventh stage of my motorcycle journey, still bound for Czernowitz: Horodnic de Sus, but where on earth is Horodnic de Sus? Learn more about it and join me for an extended lunch break together with the ASF volunteers, who cleaned the Czernowitz Jewish Cemetery:

I'm extremely grateful for the outstanding joint performance the ASF volunteers delivered and expressed our gratitude on behalf of our entire group on the occasion of yesterday's farewell dinner, attended by Dr. Josef Bursuk (President of Chesed-Shushana), Dr. Mykola Kushnir (Director of the Jewish Museum) and others.

On the other hand, I would like to point out clearly my personal position. >From my point of view the maintenance of the Jewish Cemetery should be an essential objective for the City Administration of Czernowitz, but as long as the political, social and cultural decision makers don't admit - beyond good-will statements - their responsability, all activities from outside are not sustainable and will remain just cosmetical to a certain degree. In reverse, it's our task to deal with the Real life in Czernowitz and in Ukraine!
