Re the stretch limo, Hardy, I doubt that Czernowitzers of our day would have taken to it.  It is a symbol of American affluent peasantry, something that snooty Czernowitzers would have shunned and our Romanian peasants wouldn't have had the money to rent such a gross vehicle.  As I recall, the Lipoveners would genuflect if they saw just an automobile since they assumed that if an ox or horse wasn't pulling it, the devil must be pushing it.  Aside from houses that have survived the years, there is little in Cz today that can be linked to the times and culture of pre-war Cz.  Traiasca Regele!
