Although not in other aspects I must say that from my experience the
cemeteries in southern Bucovina are in better condition than those in
northern Bucovina. What the Soviets did to the old Czernowitz Jewish
cemetery is an outrage.

Hi Hannelore....an amazingly good set of photos. The husband and wife stones
(Gottlieb) born 1888 and died 1967, lived through and survived 2 World
Wars(and the Nazis)...very moving. And one major question...unlike our
Czernowitz cemetery,this one is NOT overgrown at all,so who maintains it???
