Gladis is a hit !
 Renown Rumanian pre-war shoe polish.
During the war we had no shoes nor polish.
  Bravo , Frieda.

Somewhere in the far reaches of my memory I recall a shoe polish called
Gladis. There was a jingle on the radio: Gladis e beat de treaba... Am I

I am not sure, but I think that even though we generally called
shoe polish, Schmoll Paste, there was a brand named "Pasternak".
Do I remember correctly?
