Like Andy, I do not remember any Jingles from Czernowitz,
except of course during the Russian time, when we sang to
"Father Stalin".
But in our home, the crusty end part of the bread was called
a "Scherzel" or "Schertzel" and was a favorite.

Later in life, when I met children for whom the crust of the bread
had to be cut away and discarded, I was appaled.

No wonder, we Czernowitzers are such crusty people!
