On the former Herrengasse the paving-stones are inscribed
with the name Czernowitz in Hebrew letters and in German,
the language most of us spoke. There are memorial plaques
on city buildings to Jewish people; Sidi Thal, Erwin Chargaff,
Moyshe Altman. A memorial to the ghetto, a Jewish museum
and a monument to Paul Celan.
In some city restaurants you can get Gefillte fish or "Mayine"
