Re comments on Schindler's List and Spielberg, (who, of course, comes from an old Czernowitzer family, which gives us the relevance,) Holocaust films are usually box office disasters because the subject is so disturbing that non-Jewish audiences stay away in droves. This film received several years of advance publicity and with Spielberg attached became a box office success.  My dissatisfaction with the film was the focus on the victims, a story well known, and not enough exposition on Schindler himself; what made him tick, what was his motivation?  (And did he have any relatives in Cz?)
