Austriaplatz:
Before the installation of the Austria statue the square's name was
Criminalplatz.
Because of the City jail where they put Criminalniks in if they were caught
that is.
   The Criminal forms the West border of the square.
  Austriaplatz with some 264 m elevation is the highest peak in town.
  If you want to go any higher you must climb the Landesregierung roof
  and one of the chimneys - you may reach elevation 300 m.
    After this - the gates to heaven.
   Now Maria Theresa for the layman:
    She was the only female monarch of the dynasty.
     And also the most successful.
    She produced 16 offsprings .
      The rest of the time she spent marrying them off.
    To very good families with good reputation.
      Mostly to the royal heirs from Spain ,Holland ,France .
      The Habsburg Empire expanded and became the biggest
      power in Europe.
    All of her offsprings, like herself had long and narrow noses.
      She was no striking beauty and her figure was far from slim.
       After 16 births - no wonder.
