Fred,you are right about the selective amnesia but not about Popovici. In
his original home town he is celebrated and regarded as a humanitarian hero
and they have a "Popovici Society". Cornel

Well!!! Roumania as much as other countries has selective amnesia and a
talent of denial.
Sadly Trajan Popovici was a Jewish hero deserving accolades, to the
Roumanians he is tainted
because he saved Jews. As recently one Roumanian Minister Sava expressed his
convincing doubt about the barbarous massacre in Jasi as an exageration.
