Iris,

Google Translate is a machine, not a person, so should not be expected to perfectly translate anything...

The German original:
"Sein Todeskampf vollzog sich unter großen Qualen:
noch früh morgens wand er sich unter Krämpfen und seine Schwester alarmierte
erschreckt die Nachbarn, die nach kurzer Zeit die Aerzte Dr. Sternlieb und
Dr. Hamburger herbeiholten."

Properly translates (by human):  "His death struggle took place in agony: in early morning he still writhed in
convulsions and his sister alerted, frightened, the neighbors who gathered in a
short time brought the physicians Dr. Stern and Dr. Hamburger"

All considered, not a bad translation by the machine...

Subject: Re: [Cz-L] Franz Porubsky

I don't mean to make light of what was obviously a  great tragedy in 1934,
but whoever in Google attempted the translation of  the suicide story
mangled it.  In addition to the fact that I've  never seen a newspaper report of
someone's death with such gruesome  details, I don't understand the
following phrase:  "the neighbors who  gathered in
a short time brought the physicians Dr. Stern and Dr. Hamburger lovers".
......
Does that mean Dr. Stern and Dr. Hamburger loved  hamburgers, or did it
mean
Dr. Stern and Dr. Hamburger were lovers.
    Someone, please help me understand.
