Re: [Cz-L] Turkenbrunnen

Now days Shalom Aleichem street is the name of the former Judengasse, or
Evreyaska (in the Romanian) my grand-grand father home was there.
Not clear why the Soviet/Ukraine regime selected this name.
Is Shalom Aleichem considered as an important figure in Ukraine /Russian
culture? As far as I know he was not from Czernowitz.
