During the first Soviet occupation, 1940-41 there
was a Yiddish school in Czernowitz.
It was located in the former Liceul Julia Hajdeu
on the Austria Platz (Ghica Voda).
Shalom Aleichem's stories were an intensive part
of the curriculum.
