Dear Bianca,
I am not surprised that you, as well as many others, have never heard of the
"Scoala Primara Oltea Doamna", because it was a public elementary school, and
the majority of the Jewish children went to private schools.
As to my being incorrect about the "Liceul Oltea Doamna", I am sorry to say
that you need to read carefully what I wrote in my e-mail.
"When the Soviets came, we had to repeat the same grade. This time it was a
mixed school for boys and girls. I don't remember the name or number, but it was
in the building of the previous Liceul Oltea Doamna for girls."
The Liceul Oltea Doamna was located off the Siebenbuergerstrasse opposite the
Volksgarten, but the entrance was from a side street, whereas my elementary
school was in the corner of the Nueweltgasse.
I hope this clarified the confusion.
Cheers,
Ruth

Dear David,
your mother was quite right, from 1936 the "Liceul Oltea Doamna" was located in
the former
Landwirtschaftliche Mittelschule. I was looking forward to attending it some
day.
