There are good reasons to be wary of the Svoboda party of Ukraine.
But the newspaper articles which have appeared recently, claiming
that the Svoboda party gained seats in the latest election, were based
on exit polls and not on a proper count of the votes.
In the elections for local government of the various districts
(Oblasts),
which were held in 2010 this party won the most votes (16% - 24%)
in the districts of Ternopil, Lviv and Ivano Frankivsk.
All districts which previously were part of Galicia.
In Chernivtsi Oblast they won only 1.18%.
