Paul, you got it back to front. The east speaks Russian more than
Ukrainian,the west is the reverse.The west wants to join the EU,the east

There is a tension between the East and West Ukraine. In the East they are
mainly Catholics, speaking Ukrainian, in the West they are Orthodox,
speaking Russian. The first tend to ally with Western Europe, the West, in
contrast tend to Russia. I think that
the ultra nationalist East, concerned with the preservation and priority of
the Ukrainian language and culture, created the party mainly for that
motive, but as usual all ultra nationalists perceive the Jew as "not one
of us."
