Paul Brascanu from Vatra Dornei/Dorna-Watra is a third-generation railroader with heart and soul and - first of all - a friend of mine. As a result of his unconditional dedication to the railroad history of Bukovina, he released the new publication with the original title “Drum de fier prin praf de pușcă” [Iron Railway Fueled by Gunpowder]

This is more than a book, it’s a stage of life, not only for the author and dedicated railroader Paul Brașcanu himself, but a discovery for all those, who are, as you, fascinated by the checkered Bukovinian past. The railroad history in Bukovina on 526 – partially color printed – pages, more than 750 pictures, photographs, postcards, documents, drawings and, last but not least, a homage to Emanuel Alois Ziffer, the the railroad magnate, “Father of the Bukovinian Railroad System” and honorary citizen of Czernowitz.
 
I'm delighted that I had the opportunity to contribute with some data input to this outstanding achievement of Paul. Enjoy the reading!
