Thank you for your response and the captain's name. I do remember the Har
Zion captain who was tall and robust to a seven year and at times younger
boy. I recall reading a biography of this gentleman. I think it was in
Hebrew but it could be also in English. I have a vague memory, but I cannot
recall where and when I read the biography.

Turtel (no family connection - as far as I know). Does the name ring a bell
