Unfortunatelly, preserving Jewish very rich history and culture was never and still is not a priority.
It was only up to the Jews and with Jewish money and only when it was convenient and at a profit to the rulers at the time.
BTW. Is anybody aware that now each region can chose a second language? Apparently Bukovina picked Romanian.
The eastern regions picked Russian.
I just located my best friend from Junior College of Music. Her sister still lives in Czernowitz.
People who went to that school had a reunion in Tel Aviv in 2008.
My friend is looking for Anna Birkental (Sidi Tal's niece) She should be 64-65 now. Piano teacher. Does anybody has any information?
