[Cz-L] Times past

The first photo of Christian Herrmann's 955 wonderful photos of Galicia
and Bukowina, shows the Hotel Georges in Lviv. It strikes me that it is
still in such good condition, in its Renaissance style and pink walls
still attractive. My mother used to tell me that when she went to ski
championships in the area,the whole ski team spent a few nights there,
how beautiful it was and what a good time they had, all young people. I
believe it was THE hotel at the time. When we went to Czernowitz in
2003, to "starr" in the movie "Dieses Jahr in Czernowitz", on the way
we spent a night in this hotel, with fairly nice furniture, high
ceilings, big bathroom, a bit better than the Cheremos! For myself, it
was simply exciting, to stay where my mother had stayed around 70 years
ago.

Sura Dacilor - looks quite nice, but the music, if you can call it that,
is impossible. Don't know who chose "the musicians", really good enough
for tourists? Simply monotonous. Where are the gypsies of long ago, who
really made your heart tremble?
