CHRISTIAN TOO IS NOT ENTIRELY CORRECT. THE RAILWAY STATION WAS NOT CLOSE TO
THE GROISSE SCHIL. THE SCHILGASSE WAS CALLED SO BECAUSE THERE WERE MANY
SCHILEN- SYNAGOGUES IN THAT STREET.
THE SHILGASS STARTED AT THE SPRINGBRUNNENPLATZ, BUT THE GROISSE SHIL WAS
NOT NEARBY. THE JEWISH HOSPITAL WAS CLOSE TO THE SPRINGBRUNNENPLATZ AND AS
SAID, TO THE START OF THE SCHILGASS. FROM THERE STARTED THE BAHNHOFSTRASSE
THAT LED DOWN THE STEEP HILL TO THE RAILWAY STATION.
