Re: [Cz-L] Dark is the Night

Sung by the Jewish actor Barness. "Dva Baytsa" was the first adults film I
saw after returning from Transnistria. I never forgot the song, and the
scene where they put fire to the river in order to defend the town. Life
wasn't easy but it was very much better than Transnistria even when at the
end we had to flee because my father was registered as "paragraph 39". I
imagine that everyone who stayed behind had a very good reason for doing so,
but for somebody who really wanted out there was more than one way to leave.
It's Christmas. People all around the world are celebrating it and there is
no need to deny it. New Year will be in 8 days. If you want a Jewish
symbolism then this is the day of the circumcision of the Jewish baby Jesus.
We have our own state among the nations of the world now so we can leave
behind some of our Diaspora complexes and wish Merry Christmas even if we do
not celebrate it.
