Hello All,
I am researching my great-great grandfather, Dr. Josef Glaser, who lived in
Czernowitz in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Recently I found a
treasure trove of beautifully handwritten letters dating from 1890 to 1921
written in German to and from Dr. Glaser.
Dr. Glaser raised my grandfather, who was born in 1894. My grandfather
told me that Dr. Glaser was a lawyer who served as the mayor of Czernowitz
at some point. My grandfather died in 1979, so I can't ask him to
elaborate.
Does anyone know how to research Dr. Glaser, or know of someone familiar
with handwritten German from that era who would be willing to help in a
translation?
Many thanks,
Jay
