I am astounded at the subject matter on the discussion list.
The degree of suffering, the murder of Czernowitzer Jews,
the comparisons. There seems some doubt about the
veracity of the complex, systematic murder that has taken
place at least rememberd by the survivors. I, for one would not hesitate
that all the nations in our vicinity were complicit in the
wholesale murder. Of course there were some Christians who were
saving many Jews but it was a tiny minority and I mean tiny.
When I mentioned antisemitismus I was owerwhelmed by
denial and appologist. Yes there may be a new generation that
is more enlightened but still have a parent that would tell how
hatefull a Jew is. Not many Jews abound in Czernowitz
and all who are there keep a low profile. I would like to remind
people that from 1941- 45 Europe was charnel house, a Getho
continent those who escaped by whatever means was more by
the grace of God then human intervention. The nations around
us had no scruples to rob, murder, rape and torture and never offered
a humble appology, an acknowledgement , yet some people
would want me to be more conciliatory & that antisemitismus has disipated
because today everything is hunky dory. Winessed by a few days visit.
The State does not acknowledge your existence if it does, is more
as a tokenism. We pay for the cleaning of the cemetery, some
foreign groups assisting as a token of charity. Chabad is paying for most
of the Jewishness of Czernowitz. The State does not acknowlledge the Jewish
properties, receives rent any Jewish organisation gets any benefit??
The Temple has been converted into a private commercial property while
all other Christian churches have been restored to their glory even though
there is
poor attendance. Etnic cleansing can be done in different ways.
