Dear Shellie,

I'm so glad this happened to you. And I'm sure you are not the only one who
has made important connections through the list.

My grandfather also never spoke of the world he left behind and it took me
years of contacting known relatives and becoming a mailing list member to
learn what I wanted so badly to know. Then a year ago, I finally went to
see it for myself - what an unforgettable and enriching experience!

Shana Tova to you and to all the list members, all of whom are important to
us.
Merle

Dear Cz-list members,

Anny Chemla is my cousin's cousin. Without this group, we probably never
would have found each other. Also a member of this group, my cousin Felicia
Carmelly. None of us has ever met each other in person (but we must make an
effort to amend that situation!)

My grandparents never spoke of the world they left behind when they
emigrated to the U.S. to be 'Americans'. Hedwig & Hardy, Merle & Mimi,
Bruce, Edgar, Andy, Gabriele, Charles, Abraham, Fred, Jerry and the other
more frequent posters - to so many of us you are cherished for helping us to
appreciate the nuances and perspectives of life in Cz and environs. I look
forward to reading the list every day. Even the disagreements are a window
into different points of view. 4 Jews/5 opinions...

>From a San Francisco lurker, best wishes for a sweet New Year filled with
love and peace and joy.
