 But every shop had at the entrance the "Vorbiti  Romaneste "
Speak Roumanian and hardly anybody of the older generation did
it was the new ones who actually went to school & learned.
I was a bit of a laugh to hear the fractured language coming out
from the ones who tried but could not master Roumanian.

It must have driven the Rumanians crazy that 20 years after
incorporation of Bukowina back into the homeland the
most influential part of the population ,the Jews , did not
speak Rumanian or used the Rumanian street names.
