Hardy,i'm sure there are hundreds of reasons to join the Czernowitz
membership list but I believe one of the most important is because YOU are
there--a human encyclopedia who stimulates and motivates many of us to
research,probe and learn more.
    At first glance, the kachelofen to me was a stunning work of
Scandinavian art. Then I learned it is a ceramic tile stove, the large size of which
can heat a whole house. And being a Czernowitzer native''s daughter, I
was very proud to learn that there's an Austrian Kachelofen Association that
researches kachelofens.
 
    Seriously, Hardy, this is just one example of how you change people's
lives---for the better through your e-mail and photos. Other more poignant
illlustrations include
residents lining up during the occupation for bread rations. Thank you
so very much.and kindest regards and best wishes to you. the Czernowitz
membership and their families for good health, happiness and PEACE.
