Es stand in alten Zeiten ein Schlo=DF, so hoch und hehr,
Weit gl=E4nzt es =FCber die Lande bis an das blaue Meer,
Und rings von duft'gen G=E4rten ein bl=FCtenreicher Kranz,
Drin sprangen frische Brunnen in Regenbogenglanz.
Not to be confounded to the "Saenger" by Goethe that is a nice,naive and
optimist short poem
that I am just using to teach two of my grand children German. And I
suppose the high and the mighty(?)
figure in other German poems too.
