The friend and translator of Celan, Petre Solomon, has a son, Alecu
Solomon, film director, who lives in Bucharest and is the director of
some remarcable documentaries about Celan and his father, about I.L.
Caragiale, and among others, an interesting documentary about new
oligarchs in today's Romania (all of them admitted having been former
agents of the Securitate). We met him quite a few years ago and see him
occasionally when he shows his new productions in Berlin.
