Dear Anny, dear Jerome,
Thanks for the amazing story that you Anny, wrote and thanks to you Jerome,
to put it on our list..Memory came back to me too, others, from our youth
during the WW2...but I found the names of my friends, Lulu Hornstein, Sigi
Trichter, Erwin Koerner...Lulu and Sigi I meat after war, but what about
Erwin Koerner, I heard that he perished on such a boat, a small nutshell in
the Mediteranian?
Anny, congratulations for your wonderful story, you are an writer first
class, why not published as book, not only for our list?
Hedwig

Czernowitzers...

Anny Matar has written a three part story of her early life. The first
two parts, The Russian Occupation of Czernowitz and the German
Occupation of Czernowitz were published some time ago to our 'Stories,
Histories and Documents' section of our Website.

Now Part III, 'My Arrival in Israel -- Memories of My Journey' has been
published. Follow Anny as a young girl on her incredible 1943-44
adventure, travelling from Czernowitz to Israel, outsmarting the
Romanians and the Germans along the way only to have her unseaworthy
boat almost swallowed by the unforgiving Mediterranean.

Here's the direct link to Part III (You can get to Part I or Part II
from this link as well).

Of course you can also get there from the Menu on the Home Page:

Best,
jerome
