The Yiddish Book Center's weekly podcast of last March 12 focusses on
Czernowitz-born poet Itzik Manger and a forthcoming biography by Israeli
scholar Professor Efrat Gal-Ed, who is the program's guest. Professor
Gal-Ed covers Manger's early days in Czernowitz, through his moves to Iasi,
Bucharest, Paris, and the United States, and finally, Israeli, where he died
in 1969, all against the backdrop of Yiddish literature in the 20th century
and Manger's place in it.
I found it very interesting and I think list members will enjoy listening to
it. It is in English and runs about a half hour.
