Even during the Soviet times most of the Jews lived around the centre and
looked down at people who lived in the outer suburbs. We would only travel
to Tzetzino to do ski or for picnics. When Chernovtsy started to expand and
some people moved to the new suburbs at Rogatka (Rohozna?), their friends
were reluctant to visit them.
My mother worked at a hospital in Rosha for some time, so that was the only
outer suburb that I used to visit. It looked like a village, very green and
lush.
